Kinder Prep began in 2018. Our Year 1 to Year 12 Mathematics and English tuition centre, Alawie Academy, had been thriving for almost twenty years at the time. 

We had a number of pre-Kindy students with other siblings at the centre … and they were eager to join in. Plus, our third-born was desperate to begin academic learning like her older sister. 

With 4 of our own children, we understood the struggle of teaching children to not only learn to read, but to also LOVE reading. We also knew, from watching hundreds of our students over two decades, that if a student develops the basic skills of reading and writing later than their peers, this can negatively impact their entire schooling journey. 

So we developed Kinder Prep to teach 3-5 yr old children not only how to read, but so many of the necessary skills needed for their first year of official schooling. 

We teach children phonological letter sounds and numbers; we sharpen their fine motor skills, and provide them with opportunities to solve age appropriate mathematical problems. In each session, with a ratio of just 1:4, students are able to develop confident self expression, social skills and creativity required to thrive in a schooling environment. 

Our mission is to develop well rounded 3-5 yr old children who can read, write and calculate before starting school, so that they thrive academically and socially.
